Aasta Hansteen-forelesningen 2013: Feminism and Politics of 'Experience' for the Study of Islam
Speaker: Assistant Professor Sa'ddiya Shaikh from the Department of Religious Studies, University of Cape Town, South Africa. The lecture will be followed by a seminar with prepared response from 13.00-15.00. Both seminar and lecture are open to the public.

Gendered Citizenship: History, Politics and Democracy: The Ida Blom Conference
Norway was a pioneer state in Europe introducing the general vote for both men and women in 1913. As part of the 100-year celebration, The University of Bergen and Uni Rokkan Centre will organize an international conference on gendered citizenship. The conference is named after Professor Emerita Ida Blom from the University of Bergen, recently appointed an honorary member of the American Historical Society.
