Scholars from a wide range of disciplines and from various academic institutions in Norway, all with a common interest of gender-related issues in a global perspective are invited to participate. The four keynote speakers for this first Gender Global seminar are: Chandra Talpade Mohanty Professor and Chair of Women’s and Gender Studies Professor of Sociology, Cultural Foundations of Education Dean’s Professor of the Humanities Syracuse University, USA Oyeronke Oyewumi Associate Professor of Sociology Stony Brook University, USA Breny Mendoza Associate Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies California State University, USA Nadje Al-Ali Reader in Gender Studies University of London, UK Registration for attendance without presenting paper is 15th April. The seminar is a collaboration between the research network Gender Global in Bergen, Gender and Development and the Centre for Women and Gender Research (SKOK) at the University of Bergen, and the Association for Women’s Studies and Gender Research (FOKK) in Norway. |
